Welcome to my personal portfolio, the dumping ground for projects. I usually have many outlets for my work but felt that it was time to build a ‘home base’ for everything I’m currently doing.
Design:
I started drawing early on as a kid and it evolved through many stages of art. From sketching on paper to spray painting walls, I was always drawing on something. I ended up taking art class in high school and eventually enrolled in graphic design and topography throughout college. In early 2001 I landed my first real design gig at a large format print company, printbig.com. From there I sat in several small agencies working my way through the graphic design career path. In 2004 was offered a gig at Sprint as a web designer / user experience architect. Much of the work done there was in the form of 2D blueprints for web development. I took this and ran with it and am now currently employed at VML (vml.com) as a Sr. Ux Architect. Much of the work done for VML is under strict NDA and I am unable to post it up here. All of the design work posted was individually contracted as freelance work usually for friends and family. I try not to take on one or more freelance project at at time due to my heavy work schedule. If you are interested in learning more about how I can assist with a project, please contact me via email.
Audio:
Under the assumed name FreeKing, I produce techno, minimal techno, tech house, and some electronica/experimental. This project is simply geared towards releasing the artistic freedom of music. I once lost sight of that goal many years ago and let the ever consuming music industry ruin a path once started. After a 4 year hiatus I decided to dust off the keyboard and make a few tunes. None of these were made to be sold, but made to be heard, played, and enjoyed. I’m still learning and evolving the craft of production as well as putting together a live performance act. I am specifically interested in watercooled volkswagens from 1975-1992 (A1/A2 chassis). I’ve owned 9 VW’s in the past 5 years, currently left with 3; ‘87 Scirocco, ‘87 Cabriolet (for Anne), and our daily driver ‘01 GTI. The Scirocco (Max) is the longest project I’ve owned and definitely the most unique/rare of the bunch. As I get time I’ll post up details on the builds of the cars. Photography:
December of 2009 my wife and I picked up a Cannon 7D along side a few nice lenses. We are both still very much in the learning stage but we’ve gone on location a few times, and are really dig it. I’ll try and post up as much from those shoots as I can.
