MunnyBot
Starting life as a blank Munny, this guy quickly transformed into the chrome looking robot you see below. He was created specifically for the 5 year anniversary Munny Month competition.
Created using many old VW parts and garage stuff, he was designed with many functions, some of which never saw the light of day. His eyes were made from 2 turn signal lights wired up and powered by an external 12v battery. The 2 posts coming out of his back (wings) were compiled from 2 16v fuel injectors. The original plan was for him to spray fire out of these, however the deadline and leaking pluming all contributed to a non working fire spraying Munny.
Once mocked up he was prepped for paint. The body was painted with Chrome and all of his accessories were sprayed with Red Metallic. After he was constructed our first test with spraying fuel/fire ended up causing the paint to melt. This was a bitter sweet moment because the leaking fuel and melting paint created a very unique and artistic finish.
At this point I have no plans on fixing his fuel/fire situation and I have chalked this failed experiment up to experience. I had many votes for the Munny Month contest, but fell short of placing. I think with a bit more planning and better construction I could have done much better. There’s always next time.
